Well after 27 days straight, averaging 14+ hours a day running on my feet, or almost 400 hours in less than 4 weeks, I am the last one to take a day off and it started with a load of laundry and a soak in the hot tub. We leave the apartment at O-Dark-30 (6:30am) and try to get home by 10:30 pm, so even seeing sunlight is a treat this past month. This brings back memories of my days working on the submarine and not seeing sunlight for weeks on end.
Although difficult to be away from the kitchen for the day, I am still in Whistler at the largest media event in the world so it’s time to venture out into Whistler village and get caught up in some of the Olympic hype (after the laundry is done of course). See Ya.

Hi from a long time Whistlerite. Chef Micheal tweeted this blog for those of us interested in what you're doing.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
All the best from this huckleberry picking ex-cheakamus squatter, aka the train wreck trail.
Enjoy your day off - hope the time outside with everyone energizes you for your next two week stretch!
ReplyDeleteHope you get a chance to enjoy some of the olympic events and even with one day off your missing the kitchen!!! It sure shows you love your job.
ReplyDeletetake care
Pat
Hope that you had a good day off Bill.
ReplyDeleteBoy, if anyone is feeling tired you should see the poor young women snow boarding through the fog on what sounds to be solid ice. They are falling and skidding all over the place and their thighs must be just burning! I feel badly for them and wish that they were the lucky ones to be at Whistler village to enjoy all that great food that you are preparing. Who is feeding the athletes that are at the other venues like Cyprus and Richmond?
Keep up the great work feeding the great athletes.
Cheers,
